So I finished reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s stone last week, that’s Sorcerer’s stone for you American people. And well, long story short. I really enjoyed reading it again. And I even read the Dutch version because I lost my English copy…

Of course I already knew what would happen and what to expect and I also expected that I wouldn’t hate it but I think I even enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
I’m not really sure what else to say, like I said when I started this project, the first 5 books I already know I liked, it’s the last two books I have a problem with.
Some things bug me though about book 1.

- If I find out I could do magic and go to a magic school and learn magic, I would try and learn as much as I can. I don’t understand why Harry, who is like Hermione, raised by Muggles is not trying to do better. I can understand Ron a bit, I mean, he is used of being around magic. But like someone said, maybe the newness wears off after a bit.

- Harry does not use any spells on page in this book. Sure, they describe how they did magic in classes but when it’s necessary not one spell is used by Harry. Not even a freaking Flipendo!

Which reminds me of something that bugged me in book 7 which kinda has to do with this.
Oh yeah, before I forget: SPOILER ALERT

With that out of the way. In book 7 Hermione tells Ron and Harry that they can’t conjure food because of the five principal exceptions of Gamp’s law. We, and Harry and Ron learn this in the LAST book. Harry has been on a magic school for the past six years and he doesn’t know such an elemental rule of magic? Ron, who was freaking BORN into wizard family doesn’t KNOW such an elemental rule of MAGIC?!
This small rule of magic should have been in the FIRST BOOK!
