The M.A.D. Files

It’s the second of November and so far I have written 3,364 words. 30 more then required on day 2. It’s a small victory on a long month of writing. Naturally the first couple of days are pretty easy. The story still has lots of potential, the ideas are still fresh and you have loads of time before the final day arrives.

I do think this story is pretty fun to write though. I know where my shortcomings are in this story. The beginning feels very rushed. Which always happens…I need to make sure they(the characters) take it easier before getting to the main part of the story. I could do a better job at characterizations because so far the only one with a character would be Zachary. Which is mostly because even though he changed his name it is still the character I have been using for years. (although older and engaged at the moment). So, McGregor, Baker and Gray are at the moment not really people. Which bothers me quite a bit and I need to think of a way to make them more fleshed out.

Also, I’m still need to watch out I write “Zach said,” instead of Malcolm. But that is mostly because I have been watching Firefly/Serenity lately so the name Malcolm is on my mind at the moment
